Permanent Recruitment

1. Profile role

Essential’s team of Long Term recruitment consultants have all had many years of expereince in analysing job requirements and writing job briefs. Our consultants work with your company to offer advice and understand your specific needs. They also offer advice that will help recruit the role more easily.

Online Attraction and Screening

Using our Web site to process and screen candidates online ensures that only suitable candidates are selected for initial interviews, minimising the time normally taken to interview unsuitable applications.
We also use our Web site for advertising vacancies, managing candidate responses, filtering, testing and interviewing.

Targeted Search

Essential uses our proven target search to find exceptional or specialist candidates not normally attainable through traditional recruitment methods.
Before our recruitment consultants conduct a targeted search, we consult with your company to understand your specific needs. We then identify potential candidates, make contact with them, and verify they match your needs.

Advertising

Essential customises advertisements based on your company’s specific needs. We regularly advertise in a range of media including print, radio and the internet.

3. Screen Candidates

Essential’s account management team assess candidates based on the following criteria:
 
  • required experience and knowledge
  • job description (detailed role profile and job analysis)
  • job-specific competencies
  • values and ethics.

If suitable, candidates are invited to attend a face-to-face interview. Unsuccessful applications are notified by phone and/or mail.

Register Candidates

As a minimum, Essential requires all candidates to provide the following details on registration:

  • personal contact information
  • referee details
  • emergency contacts
  • current licenses
  • health questionnaire
  • skill listing

Proof of Citizenship

Once registered, candidates are required to show proof of their Australian residency, citizenship, working visa and tax file number. Candidates that are unable to provide any of the above proof are not considered further.

4. Interview and Assess Candidates

Essential conducts interviews with candidates to assess their suitability for a specific role. We use a structured interview format to assess candidates against various behavioural, capability, experience, and aptitude-based questions.

Testing Processes

Essential conducts a suite of recruitment and selection assessments, as well as skills development and career planning.

For skills and psychometric assessments, we work with the latest assessment tools in Australian. Our company partners with Saville & Holdsworth to deliver skills based assessment and career development tools.

Reference Checks

Essential conducts in depth, behavioural-based reference checks with previous employers (at least the last two). Our reference checks include the following information:

  • Attitude
  • Abilities
  • Skills
  • Timekeeping
  • Experience
  • Previous workers compensation claims

All reference checks conducted by Essential are delivered to your company along with a signed release document from the candidate.

As required by the Australian Privacy Act, all candidates must complete a release document, which allows us to carry out reference checks, and provide these details to your company.

5. Present Candidates

Candidate details are delivered to you only after we are satisfied that they meet your company’s specific needs. These details include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Resume
  • Reference checks
  • Test results, including medical (if required)
  • Completed forms specific to your company
  • Our assessment notes and rating of candidate

If required, we also arrange interviews with your company’s representatives.

6. Place Candidates

As part of our standard follow-up procedures, Essential conducts follow-up discussions with the candidates we place. As a minimum, our Account Manager meets with candidates as follows:

  • Week 1
  • Week 4
  • Week 8
  • Week 12

Our Account Manager is also available at any other time required by your company. 

Training

With our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partner ER Consulting is able to provide training to up skill your workforce. With access to the current government incentives we are able to deliver these services for a minimal, if any, impact to your bottom line.
